I finally made the jump to paid hosting, so I’m gathering up all of my posts and heading for a new domain. Don’t worry, it shouldn’t be too hard to remember: just take out the .wordpress.com in my old one. That’s right, www.onegirlgeek.com was actually available! Awesomesauce, right? Regarding subscriptions: If you pressed the “Follow” button and added my WordPress.com blog to the your dashboard, I believe you’ll need to subscribe via e-mail on the new site.
Otherwise, I’m pretty sure everything has been successfully ported over, so your comments and all the links and images that have shown up on my WordPress.com blog over the last year are still there. I’m still poking around for new plugins to spice things up a little, so feel free to let me know if there are any bugs. Meanwhile, I went ahead and paid WordPress for site redirection, so any links to the WordPress.com account *should* direct to onegirlgeek.com. Here’s hoping that works properly…
Sometime soon, I want to play with creating my own site template from scratch, but that will take a little more time. Pardon any dust that might kick up while I’m moving stuff around and cleaning up.
Also, if you can recommend any good tutorials for making your own site using WordPress.org (read: getting away from pre-made themes), I’ll give you a virtual brownie.
Mmmmm. Brownies. I think I have a box of Ghiradelli ones in the cabinet. I don’t care how late it is, there’s always enough time before bed to make brownies!
