So, I’m headed to The Big Apple soon. Yay!
There’s one catch, though. This is going to sound silly, but I have no idea what to do while I’m there. Well, I have some ideas, but not many. Here’s my list so far, in no particular order:
- Check out the Nintendo store and try not to drool too much
- Visit the LEGO store and buy an Iron Man minifig
- Go to Forbidden Planet and bask in the awesomeness…possibly pick up some comics
- Go to Central Park
- See Times Square
- Go to the Museum of Natural History and the Museum of Modern Art
- Catch a Broadway show (if it can be arranged)
- Eat shawarma
- Eat pizza!
- Have a hot dog from a street vendor
- Go to a jazz club
- Possibly do bigger touristy things (maybe see the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, stuff like that)
- Umm…?
Addendum, thanks to Stephanie’s awesometastic ideas:
- Go to Barcade in Brooklyn (I take it I should bring tons of quarters?)
- Visit the TARDIS bathroom at The Waystation Bar
- Check out Top of the Rock for a 360 degree view (this sound amazing!)
That’s about all I’ve thought of so far. Got any new ideas?

You should make the trek out to Brooklyn and check out Barcade (good craft beer and vintage arcade games) and The Wayststion Bar (where the door to the bathroom looks like the TARDIS). I didn’t go to the latter, but I plan on going the next time I visit my sister and her fiancée.
Also check out Top of the Rock where you get a 360 degree view of the city.
I will definitely add all of those things to my list, especially the place with the TARDIS bathroom. Thanks for the suggestions!
I loved my time NY enjoy
Oh, I’m so jealous! I loooooove NYC!! If you’re a John Lennon fan, check out his memorial in Central Park. It’s gorgeous.
My hubby is a collector of the original Nintendo games and accessories so, of course, we had to go to the Nintendo store while there. He liked it but there are mostly new games and things, only one little display case dedicated to the original stuff. If you’re into gaming or collecting, it’s definitely worth checking out.
I hope you have the BEST time! (I’m sure you will!) Can’t wait to hear all about it…

Definitely planning a trip to Central Park, so I’ll have a look at that memorial while I’m there.
And yes, there will inevitably be a full report when I get back. Or every day while I’m there, depending on how tired I am at the end of the day.
