Whosday: TARDIS of the Week #1

It seems like every day, I find a new ridiculous TARDIS on Pinterest, Tumblr, Twitter, or one of the blogs I follow. Now that I’m on a kick where I try out stuff and decide I don’t like it (I decided not to continue the “top pins of the day” thing…thought it might be a little excessive.), I’m adding something new to Whosdays. Every week, I’ll do a quick post showing an interesting TARDIS creation I’ve seen recently. I think I’ll keep this idea because a lot of you folks seem to be Whovians, but we’ll see. If I run out of crazy TARDISes, then I guess I will have to stop. In any case, if you like this idea, let me know. I’m also open to suggestions for topics you’d like to see covered more often, etc. :)

And now, without further adieu, I present your TARDIS of the week: this concept for a TARDIS Blu-ray case.

Click the link above to see the outside. While you’re there, check out the rest of Dave’s Geeky Ideas. It’s a pretty nifty blog! :)

I seriously want to make one of these, and I’m pretty confident I could, too. I might not be able to build the cabinet from scratch without help, but I know my way around LEDs, switches, and batteries, so it wouldn’t be a problem putting the light in at least. Maybe I could start with an already made cabinet and add the Blu-ray holders to it. Yes, at some point in my life (soon, if I can find the perfect cabinet to mod), I will have a real version of this.

Seen any cool TARDISes lately? Have you made any? Leave a link in the comments, and maybe yours will be the next TARDIS of the week. 😀

  1. Tremendous! We are avid Whovians but not exactly crafty – though this might just warrant busting out the glue sticks, circular saw, and construction paper. And YES weekly TARDIS reviews would be wonderful …L

    1. Yay! Glad to hear that you like the idea of seeing a new TARDIS every week. If you do make one of these cabinets, would you mind linking me to a picture? I’d love to see a real one. 😀 The main thing that makes me lean toward making one from a modded cabinet is the lack of power tools…gotta work on that.

  2. That is so cool. Right now my favorite TARDIS is this concept ring where the sides of the ring looks like the TARDIS. I so want it to be my engagement ring or wedding band. :)
